Here we go again
It’s 2020 and while I don’t believe in New Years resolutions I do love the feeling of a new year and new start. And that feeling seems particularly strong for me this year. I wish I could tell you why but I don’t have an explanation. Maybe its the renewed sense of being on the right path that came with all of the commissions I successfully completed at the end of 2019 or the response to the mini collections I released? Maybe it’s just that everyone likes to have a “do over” or a fresh start. Whatever it is I’m in place with my work and my business that has me feeling very content and also eager to continue to build something bigger to serve you better. And I hope that this blog will help me do just that…serve you.
The reality is I haven’t properly blogged in a very long time. That break was probably needed to make room for other things like the work I’ve created over the past year so I’m grateful for that time away. I used to put such pressure on myself to blog, create content and be something and someone I wasn’t on here. But over the past few years I’ve really taken a step back and realized what’s important to me both in everyday life but also in my business so forcing myself to create half-assed content just to check a box on my calendar is over. I’m going with the mantra quality over quantity.
And what am I going to be blogging? Well like everything else that will probably morph and change over the course of 2020 and hopefully for the better but my intention right now is give you a peak at the behind the scenes in my studio. That peak will include my painting process, supplies I use, tutorials (oh god I said that so now I’m really committed) my thoughts one what’s happening in my work and a lot more.
I’d love to know what you’d like to see more of both here and Instagram or Facebook. Do you love the timelapse videos? Seeing what I’m doing when I’m not painting? Are you just here for the pretty paintings? Send me an email or comment below and let me know what you want to see, hear or learn!
It’s going to be a wild ride this year, I have so many things planned and I’m excited to take you on that ride. Buckle up.
