“Material Girl” is part of a small series of paintings that explore the idea of nostalgia. This is the piece where the painting where the curiosity for exploring my childhood was born Painted with the intent to feel like a peek at the top of my dresser in the early 80’s “Material Girl” features all the things I loved from Barbie to Smarties and Lisa Frank and beyond. My hope for this piece was that you could taste that candy and smell the 80’s when you view it and that it makes your heart smile.
