EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW TO GET STARTED!

CHOOSE YOUOR PHOTO: I work directly from your photo so please choose the best quality image of your subject and email it to the address provided in your receipt after checkout. I can make minor adjustments to your original image but some requests are just not doable or may require an additional fee….
Reasonable requests…. “please paint the flowers on the bush by the front door of my home pink instead of purple.”
Unreasonable: “please use these 5 photos and combine them: the hair from the first one, smile from the second but teeth from the third, outfit from the fourth and background from the last but please make it summer not winter and I’d like to look a little tanner and younger.” The answer will unequivocally be NO.
When choosing your photo there so very important do’s and don’ts so please read carefully.

BOTTOM LINE: Choose a good quality (not blurry photo) of your subject matter and have it on hand to email me when requested. Screenshots are no bueno so don’t do it. Downloaded images from Facebook are almost as bad so don’t do that either. Remember I will paint what you send me and will make some reasonable adjustments to your original image but others are not always feasible or may incur added cost for you.
2. PICK A SIZE
Choose from 18x24in, 16x20in, 11x14in, 8x10in
PICK A SIZE. I offer paintings in 4 standard framing sizes to make your life easy. If you would like to inquire about larger or custom size please feel let me know in the inquiry form.

2. CHOOSE A SURFACE
Watercolor Paper vs. Mounted Watercolor Paper
CHOOSE A SURFACE:. Long story short watercolor paintings need to be framed behind glass with a mat in order to prevent any fading of the paint over time. If that’s your jam and you prefer traditional framing then you just want a painting on watercolor paper.
However if you prefer a more modern approach I offer varnished watercolor paintings. My varnished watercolors are comprised of the same cotton watercolor paper used in my standard paintings but it is mounted to 3/4” light weight would board and finished with several layers of varnish making it lightfast. The edges of these pieces will come painted (or gold leafed if requested) and can be hung right out of the box or framed in a floating frame or standard frame without glass.
